The astrological energies of July 2025

Written on 06/15/2025

That shiver in your bones? It’s real! Uranus enters Gemini on 7th July for the first time in over 80 years, crackling through the air like static before a storm. Ideas arrive like lightning. Conversations open up whole new timelines. If May was fire and June was water, July is pure electricity.

The transition of Uranus into chatty Gemini marks the beginning of a sizzling new cycle. One that shifts how we think, connect, communicate, and create. But that's not all. With Pluto forming a supportive trine from Aquarius (for the first time in our lifetime, no big deal), the atmosphere is buzzing with breakthroughs.

But it’s not all mental buzz and quick fixes! Saturn and Neptune are station retrogrades preparing for their final dips into watery Pisces, turning the volume down on the outside world so you can hear your intuition more clearly.

Jupiter is in nurturing Cancer. Plus mid-month, Mercury will start his retrograde through Leo. This one isn’t about losing your words. It’s about remembering your voice. What story are you really telling? And who are you becoming as you tell it?

July Ivory Gloss features an aragonite sputnik for the Capricorn full moon, and honey calcite & cognac amber for the Leo new moon.

THE MOONS OF JULY

Full Moon, 10 July, Capricorn, 9.37pm

Crystal: Aragonite sputnik

Meditation: Golden Contract - - click HERE to listen

Visualise your body glowing with golden light. With each breath, feel that energy pulse outward, magnetising people, opportunities and decisions that match your truth. Let this light expand until it fills the room, then picture your future self standing calmly in that golden glow. See what’s changed. What’s gone. What’s arrived.

Now, write a contract with the Universe. Begin:
“I agree to meet my desires with energy, trust and aligned action.”
Sign it by candlelight and place it near your bed until the next new moon.

New Moon, 24 July, Leo, 8.11pm

Crystal: Honey calcite & cognac amber

Meditation: Future self - click HERE to listen

Choose one desire to call in. Before you begin, ask: If this was already real, how would I act today? Journal your answer. Then sit in meditation and meet the version of you who already has it. What are they wearing? How do they move? Feel their confidence.

Now, live from that energy for 20 minutes. Walk like them. Speak like them. Choose like them. When you’re done, stand in front of a mirror and say aloud:
“It is done. I’m just aligning with the moment it lands.”

THE ASTROLOGY OF JULY

Venus conjunct Uranus at the very last degree of Taurus

Uranus has spent years in Taurus shaking the foundation of what you thought you needed to feel safe. The result? A new understanding of value. Now Venus will meet Uranus at the final degree of Taurus, an earthly exclamation mark on YEARS of deep inner transformation.

This is a cosmic closing ceremony of sorts. A reminder that your values have changed. Your cravings have shifted. And the version of you that once needed stability might now be ready for something a little wilder.

Because it's happening just before Venus and Uranus shift into sparky Gemini, this week carries the weight of culmination and evolution. There's a clear message here: your relationship to pleasure, beauty, and stability is evolving. And you’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to want something different now.

This might come through as a jolt or a soft knowing. A shift in your tastes, your finances, your relationships or your body. Something you thought you needed might suddenly feel optional. Something you never considered might light you up in a whole new way. It’s the kind of transit that reminds you how quickly life can pivot when you’re willing to trust your instincts and let go of the script.

What this can feel like
• A sudden change of heart about a person, purchase or priority
• Feeling emotionally or physically restless without knowing why
• A powerful intuitive nudge that helps you break a pattern
• An urge to do something spontaneous, sensual or totally off-script
• Realising that what used to feel luxurious now feels limiting

Ways to work with it
• Try something new with your appearance, your pleasure rituals or your daily routines
• Clear out one item, habit or belief that no longer feels aligned with your values
• Ask yourself what pleasure means to you now, not last year, not five years ago
• Get grounded before making financial or relational decisions, but trust your gut
• Let beauty be an experiment, not a rule. Light a new candle. Wear something wild. Eat something slow
• Sit with this mantra: “I am allowed to want different things now. I honour what has changed.”

Venus and Uranus at the edge of Taurus remind you that freedom can feel like luxury. And that sometimes, the most radical thing you can do is soften into a new version of yourself.

Uranus moves into Gemini

There’s a new frequency in town, and it’s loud enough to shake loose everything from stale thoughts to outdated systems. Uranus enters Gemini kicking off a mental revolution that’s fast, unpredictable and full of surprises.

Breakthroughs, tech twists and conversations are here to change your timeline. This isn’t just about ideas, it’s about how you think, speak and connect. Things might glitch or break, but only to make room for something better. Curious minds, this is your moment.

Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Aries: Who are you without the illusion?

With both Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Aries, the focus turns inward, not to stop your momentum but to strip it back to what’s real. Aries is the sign of action, identity and initiation. But when the planets that govern structure and spirit start moving in reverse, it’s not about pushing forward. It’s about asking why you’re moving at all.

Neptune retrograde begins to dissolve the fantasies we attach to progress. The glamorised hustle, the curated identity, the idea that if you just stay busy enough, everything will work out. It peels back the performance and reveals the raw truth underneath. The version of success that once excited you might suddenly feel hollow. The dreams you’ve been chasing could shift shape right in front of you. This is time to reclaim agency from everything you were doing out of habit and not alignment.

At the same time, Saturn retrograde steps in to test the foundations. Not by punishing, but by refining. Saturn in Aries doesn’t care how polished something looks. It wants to know if it can stand. Together, these two energies challenge you to rebuild your identity from the inside out. To stop measuring yourself by external momentum and start listening to the quieter signals. What feels true now? What are you still holding onto that no longer fits? Where are you performing someone else’s version of strength?

If you’re feeling unmotivated, foggy or unexpectedly emotional, you’re not broken. You’re in the process. This isn’t a season of acceleration. It’s a reckoning with where you’ve been building on fantasy instead of something solid. Your passion isn’t gone, it’s being rerouted. This is your chance to shed old narratives, reconnect with your inner compass and rebuild a version of drive that’s actually yours. You’re not falling behind. You’re falling into alignment.

What this can feel like:
Frustration without a clear cause
Questioning your goals or public persona
A craving for more honesty in how you live and work
Old roles or labels starting to feel tight
Sudden insight into what’s performative versus purposeful

How to work with it:
Review your personal goals and ask what’s still aligned
Detach from external validation and re-centre around integrity
Let go of the pressure to be endlessly driven
Take a break from proving and focus on building
Ask yourself what version of you is ready to retire
Reconnect with what actually makes you feel alive

This is not soft-focus spiritual work. This is identity work. Saturn wants it built to last. Neptune wants it to mean something. Aries just wants it to be you.

Mercury Retrograde in Leo

Mercury retrograde begins in Leo on 18 July (with the shadow already creeping in from 29 June), turning the volume down on the performance and up on self-reflection. Leo rules boldness, creativity and heart, but Mercury here asks: do you actually believe your own voice? Expect to rethink your story, your presence, and how much of you is really being seen. Edits, updates and quiet truth-telling are all on the table.

Is it retrograde drama or just your Leo placements acting up? Find out here.

Capricorn full moon

The Capricorn full moon on the 10th July arrives like a check-in from the universe. With the sun in Cancer highlighting emotional truth and the moon in Capricorn spotlighting structure, this is a moment to ask: Is what you’re building still aligned with who you’ve become?

It’s not just about goals, it’s about integrity. If something feels heavy, outdated or off-track, this moon will make it obvious. Time to prune, commit or release, whatever brings you back into balance.

Leo Season: Spark the inner flame

The sun moves into Leo on 22 July, and just like that, something inside you wants to glow again. Leo season always brings a rise in warmth, confidence and creative energy, but this year, it starts on a quieter note. Mercury is retrograde in Leo too, so before you grab the mic and start broadcasting your brilliance, there’s a pause. A moment of reflection. A chance to ask yourself not just what you want to express, but why.

Leo is ruled by the sun. It’s all about visibility, vitality and the joy of being yourself in full colour. But this energy isn’t just about the spotlight. At its core, Leo teaches us about inner radiance. Authentic confidence. Creative courage. It reminds you that self-worth isn’t something you perform, it’s something you embody.

This season stirs up your desire to play, create and love deeply. You might feel a magnetic pull toward bold ideas, romantic connection or simply wanting to be seen more clearly for who you are. But with Mercury still retracing its steps, the invitation is to slow down and refine. This is your creative rehearsal period. You’re preparing to step into a bigger version of yourself, and Leo season wants it to be honest, not polished.

It’s also a beautiful time for reconnecting with your inner child, the part of you that created just for the joy of it. What did they love? What lit them up? Leo season says that joy is a form of wisdom. And it’s not frivolous. It’s essential.

What this can feel like
• A surge of creative energy that needs space, not structure
• A craving to be seen and validated, but also more sensitive to feedback
• Identity shifts that make you question how you’ve been showing up in relationships
• Renewed passion for something you used to love doing or making
• Realisation that your voice, your look or your presence is ready for an upgrade

Ways to work with it
• Dress up for yourself, even if you’re staying in
• Share something creative, even if it’s imperfect
• Take yourself on a solo date to somewhere inspiring
• Start a “brag file” - a running list of things you’ve done that you’re proud of
• Mirror journal: look into your eyes and ask, “What do I need to feel fully me?”
• Say yes to your desires, even if they feel indulgent. Especially then

Leo season reminds you that self-expression is a form of self-respect. You don’t need to dim your light to be loved. The right people will find you by your glow.

New moon in Leo

The new moon in Leo on 24 July is laced with Pluto-powered truth. This lunation wants more than pretty affirmations. It wants embodiment. What do you really want? And what are you willing to shift to claim it?

With Mercury still retrograde in Leo, you’re not ready for the final performance quite yet so keep rehearsing. Rewrite your lines. Reclaim your role. This is a powerful reset for confidence, creativity and personal power.

Here’s your new moon in Leo guide, and a guided meditation to help you align with the law of assumption.

Venus joins Jupiter in Cancer

Venus moves into Cancer on 31 July, and suddenly everything softens. After the fire and flash of recent weeks, this is a shift into emotional safety, intimacy and quiet beauty, the kind that feels like home. Venus in Cancer isn’t performative, it’s protective. It’s about tending to your inner world, your closest connections and the spaces that hold you.

As Venus moves closer to Jupiter, there’s a subtle but powerful expansion in how much love you’re able to give and receive. Tap here to explore the energy of Venus in Cancer and what it’s stirring in you.

July is the kind of month that makes your skin tingle. This is your chance to make space for your real desires. Let go of what no longer serves you and build something softer, truer and more yours. You don’t need to perform the next chapter. You just need to feel it and let it land. Have a wonderful month!
