New moon in Leo, July 24th, 2025

Written on 06/28/2025

This year’s Leo new moon is making direct eye contact with Pluto across the zodiac, demanding the attention of every part of you that’s been dimmed, downsized or dressed up to please the crowd.

If you've been hiding behind polish or shrinking to fit, this new moon will expose the gap between your current story and your true self. Power dynamics and shadow material is due some attention this week, especially around how you've been showing up when it comes to groups, the online world or in your creative life.

This is not about forcing confidence. It’s about choosing honesty. If something feels off, a job, a relationship, a version of yourself you’ve outgrown, trust that little fire in your chest. Stop editing your dreams down to something too small.

But with Mercury still retrograde in Leo, the story is still being shaped. You’re not performing yet. You’re in rehearsal tweaking your lines. Reclaiming your role. Having said that, anything in the way of you owning your dreams fully is going to feel obvious, fast.

Clarity might arrive in the form of a flashback. Old dreams, past patterns, forgotten creative sparks, they’re resurfacing for a reason. Take the hint!

What’s actually happening in the sky

Leo is ruled by the sun, which means this new moon is all about visibility, creativity, charisma and courageous self-expression. When a new moon lands here, it’s a chance to rewrite the story you’re telling, not just to the world, but to yourself.  But what makes this new moon so exciting are the planets surrounding it.

Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto are the outer planets, the ones that shape culture, direction and deep identity, and they are all linked up in what astrologers call a bucket pattern. Their involvement tells us this isn’t a throwaway mood. This is identity-deep, future-forming energy.

Even with the direct opposition to the new moon, Pluto is so well aspected that this electrifying energy can help you transform the way you express yourself, and even your entire identity, but only if you're willing to face the deeper truths.

Not just being seen, but seen for who you actually are. What does confidence even mean when you’re no longer trying to impress anyone? This new moon is asking you to show up, shine unapologetically, and stop waiting for someone to hand you permission.

If your expression is polished but disconnected, if your desires have been quietly shrinking to keep the peace, this moon will clock it immediately. And it’s not subtle! It has a raw intensity that’s impossible to perform your way out of. Pluto strips back the gloss (ahem!) and asks what’s underneath.
